Condition: Very good condition with an excellent bore. It retains ca 80% original barrel blue with loss on the high edges and thinning from aggressive cleaning. The receiver has most of its original case colors which have thinned and muted over time. The wood is very good with some water staining at the butt.

Trapdoor does not work freely. Buckhorn sights are nice good balance. Circa 1888.

Breech stamped "Manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. New Haven, Conn. U.S.A." and "5-90 W.C." Stock under finger lever stamped "Pat. Oct. 14 1884, Jan. 20 1885" with serial number. Stock stamped "Model 1886". Barrel length - 25 1/4", Overall length - 45". The serial # indicates a manufacture date of 1897. Condition: Many alterations, minor losses to wood and appropriate wear for age with semi-loose forestock, probably not-re-blued, and appears to have been drilled for sights.

Walnut stocks, metal frame, octagonal barrel. Standard sights. Barrel length - 26". Overall length - 45". Serial number corresponds to year 1895. Receiver retains visible case colors. Wood is good with normal dings. Action is excellent.

Caliber marked on top of barrel and bottom of brass lifter. Circa 1880.

Bore is clear rifling good action strong. Metal has brown-grey patina. Stock has a nice tiger stripe and old patina. Lettering and numbers show some wear but are still quite easy to read. Bottom of lifter is very dinged directly over caliber marking. Trapdoor works freely. Circa 1890.
